I'm excited (and yes of course a little bit nervous!) to announce that I'm expanding my practice to include a cognition-focused practice, working with another physician and a team of health coaches, and hopefully someday soon a nutritionist!
As you know I've been inspired by the work of Dr. Dale Bredesen and by some of the early successes in the implementation of his protocol with some of my patients. I've learned, though, that a team approach is probably the best way to optimize success so here we go!
I'm starting things off by hosting a monthly lecture series at the local hospital, Asante Ashland Community Hospital, starting Tuesday evening, January 30th, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. All are welcome, no charge, and I'll spend about half the time presenting information and leave lots of time for questions. Please join me if you're nearby!
We'll talk about the options for reversing (fully or partially) already existent Alzheimer's disease, and the FAR easier prospect of preventing it. If you have a family member with dementia or are worried about your own cognition or your future, please come--there will be information pertinent to all situations. In future talks we'll cover specific areas of interest such as recommended foods (The Dementia Reversing Diet), the importance of meditation (or similar activity) and the extent to which the Bredesen protocol is applicable to other neurodegenerative diseases.
Very soon our website will be up and running: NorthwestMemoryCare.com! Also happy to have your questions, through the website, Facebook, or calling the office for a free introductory chat appointment, 541-482-8333.
Should be a great adventure!
